Importer held in Rs 1,426cr drug smuggling case
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), probing the smuggling of 198kg of high quality crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 9kg of cocaine totally worth Rs 1,426 crore, arrested the importer, Vigin Verghese, on Sunday and is looking into the roles of a few others, including Vigin's younger brother Jibin and friend Mansoor Thachaparamban, in the racket.
