HC defers Singareni union polls to Dec 27
The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) trade union elections in Hyderabad have been postponed until December 27. The Telangana high court granted the state government and SCCL management permission to delay the union elections until after the completion of the assembly polls and the declaration of results. The Singareni union polls are considered to be significant as the over 50,000 workforce could influence the outcome of 13 assembly seats in the coal belt region. The court has requested an undertaking from the government to ensure law and order during the elections.
