Bengaluru: Green chilli prices surge to Rs 130 a kilo
Green chilli prices have shot through the roof. A kilo of the produce was selling at Rs 130 in Bengaluru on Thursday, up over 100% from Rs 60 a kg last month, reports Sanika Athavale. Growers and traders said that the leaf curl disease stunting the crop has aggravated the disruptions created by supply-demand gap and climatic factors like searing heat over the last few months.
