Ticketless travellers now adopt a new trick to dodge train TTERailway authorities in Mumbai have discovered a new method used by commuters to bypass the geo-fencing system and book mobile tickets from inside a train. This is being done by scanning QR codes of stations found on a website. The UTSonmobile app, which uses GPS coordinates, only allows ticket booking if the user is within 5km and at least 20 metres away from the boarding station. However, the website provides PDF links containing QR codes, allowing passengers to bypass the system. Officials are considering implementing dynamic QR codes that change frequently to prevent this practice.
