Stung by fuel price hikes, Uber raises fare by 15% in Mumbai
App cab aggregator Uber on Friday said it has hiked fares by an average 15% across all categories of vehicles from Saturday. Firm officials said the reason was primarily to support drivers who have been hit hard by the fuel price hikes, especially diesel, and also rising inflation. “To help cushion drivers from the impact of spike in fuel prices, Uber is raising trip fares in Mumbai by 15%,” said Nitish Bhushan, head of central operations, Uber India and South Asia.
