Receding forest cover cost K'taka Rs 3.8k cr in 6 yrs
Karnataka has suffered economic losses of Rs 3,800 crore due to depleting forest cover in the past six years, and these have been caused mainly by forest land conversion for non-forest purposes followed by forest fires and other natural calamities, according to a report by the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC).
