Raigad, Navi Mumbai emerging as new hubs of GST fraud
The Central GST's anti-evasion unit of Raigad has arrested a graduate student who launched 15 shell companies, generated fake invoices of Rs 180 crore and fraudulently availed Input Tax Credit (ITC) of Rs 33 crore. This is the third such arrest in the last fortnight, and according to government, Raigad and Navi Mumbai are emerging as new centres of GST fraud.
