As heavy and consistent rainfall continued to soak the city for the second day in a row, with some areas witnessing 'blinding' rain or sudden intense bursts, at 227.8mm, Colaba set a record with the heaviest single-day rainfall in the month of July in last eight years. On July 16, 2014, Colaba had received 228mm of rainfall.
