Man cheats over 50 women with fake Insta profile
A person in Belagavi, India was caught cheating over 50 women by creating a fake Instagram account in the name of a police subinspector. The accused, Vijay Shrishail Barli, is from Athani but resides in Hubballi. He is an accused in a complaint filed by a police officer in Belagavi on November 20, 2022. Inspector Br Gaddekar took up the investigation and arrested the accused on Thursday. During the interrogation, Vijay said the fake account was created in the name of Inspector Kumbar and had 112,000 followers pretending to be the cop. Vijay contacted around 50 women he has fleeced to the tune of over Rs. 4 lakh by promising them jobs and other assistance. Police also found nine other fake accounts created by Vijay in different names. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. PSI Hl Dharmatti, PSI Ah Bhajantri, Asi Kr Imamnavar, and Personnel GS Lamani Si Bandi, Nr Ghadeppanavar Iranna Naduvinahalli, and Ca Kelagade took part in the operation.
