ITAT: Can’t invoke Black Money Act over slight errors
The Mumbai bench of the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) has held that the provisions of the Black Money Act, enacted to check tax evaders, cannot be so interpreted by Income-tax (I-T) officers "as to cause undue hardship to citizens for harmless technical or venial breaches of the law."
