Groundwater rises in some areas, but Delhi loses overall
Still struggling to recharge its aquifers and meet its water needs, Delhi saw a further shrinking of groundwater levels in the city’s most stressed areas and a slight rise in some. Central Ground Water Board data related to the period between January 2020 and 2021 shows that while the groundwater table fell in the long term, more monitoring stations than earlier showed a rise in the levels.
