Delhi roads a death trap for cyclists
Accidents involving cyclists grew 36% between January and May this year against the same period last year. While 12 cyclists were killed in 2021 in 55 accidents, this year 17 cyclists died in 75 road accidents involving cyclists. Not wearing protective gear, absence of dedicated cycling lanes and the lack of empathy of road users are some reasons why cyclists are vulnerable on the road.
