Days likely to get hotter in Delhi
The maximum temperature, which has been hovering below the normal mark for the past one week, rose to 40.2 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung, the city’s base station, on Saturday. At 40.4 degrees Celsius, Pitampura was the hottest station in the capital. Though the mercury level is predicted to rise gradually, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said heatwave conditions are unlikely for the next six days.
