At 975, Mumbai's Covid count hits 47-day high
Covid-19 incidence in the city hit a 47-day high as nearly 1,000 (975) cases were recorded on Wednesday - the highest since July 1 (978). Mumbai's daily positivity rate touched double digits at 12%, suggestive of higher transmission to which level of testing is not keeping up. The state saw almost a 100% jump in cases on Wednesday compared to Tuesday. A total of 1,800 cases were reported, up from 836 cases seen on Tuesday when detections fell due to low testing on Independence Day. Mumbai accounted for 55% of cases reported in the state.
