16 K’taka women fell prey to acid attacks since 2019
In March this year, a 51-year-old theatre artist was attacked with acid when she was asleep. Investigation revealed her attacker was a friend who confessed that he "felt neglected". In a more recent case (April 28), a 24-year-old woman was attacked with acid by her jilted lover and in December 2019, a man sprayed the corrosive substance on a 35-year-old BMTC conductor, who was his sister-in-law.
